UX Designer

This individual must be comfortable with traveling nationwide to client sites when needed, as well as being comfortable working directly with clients on projects. The role also requires someone who has a proven ability to be a leader on a small team, while still working collaboratively with its team members. Essential Skills:

  • 1-3 years of professional UX design experience.
  • Expertise in creating Meta-Level Personas, Process Flows and User Journey Maps.
  • Experience with design tools, including Photoshop, Axure, Balsamiq, Invision, Proto.io or other similar tools for rapid prototyping.
  • Ability to produce key metrics findings as well as recommendation reports.
  • Strong understanding of full Adobe Creative Suite, and any experience with Sketch is a plus.
  • Experience with HTML5/CSS3 is a plus.
  • Understanding of fundamental design principles (typography, layout, grid systems, hierarchy, color, composition).
  • Understanding of dynamic design principles (fluid content, restricted layout sizes, portable usability standards).
  • Desire to work hands-on for an innovative project from start to finish, and posses the ability to think creatively and contribute fresh ideas and progressive insights.
  • Should be able to showcase their work via a digital or printed portfolio that demonstrates creative thinking and problem solving skills.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the UX team to develop and iterate user interface designs based on research and usability test results.
  • Produce final UI designs, adhering to the style and guidance of the design team.
  • Deliver designs in a specification document.
  • Design and create the user interface (including all that the UI comprises like images, CSS, HTML etc.) of the application.
  • Additional responsibilities include helping to define the UX vision, brand strategy, solution innovation, and prototyping.
  • Conduct interviews with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to understand the vision, mission, and measurable goals.
  • Conduct baseline usability tests identify user performance and satisfaction metrics.
  • Make recommendations for changes, both immediate and longer term and assist with any immediate changes needed.
  • Create designs and materials to be used during analysis to meet user needs and satisfaction levels.
  • Develop wireframes, page schematics and interface specifications based on research-based usability engineering practices to assist design and programming teams in implementation of site organization.
  • Develop measurement strategies that drive business objectives and goals directly to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
